Terms of Service
The rules that govern your use of Rufaa's healthcare discovery,
referral and patient-navigation services.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rufaa, including our website, facility directory, maps, referral tools, appointment features, patient-facing services and any related services we make available.
By accessing or using Rufaa, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the service. If you use Rufaa on behalf of a healthcare facility, organisation, agency or other entity, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
Rufaa is a healthcare discovery, navigation and referral platform. It is designed to help people identify healthcare facilities, understand available services, compare locations and levels of care, choose a suitable facility, and support referral and appointment workflows.
Rufaa may also provide tools that allow a patient to control and selectively share relevant health information with a healthcare provider during a referral or care-navigation process.
Rufaa is not an emergency-response service and should not be relied on where immediate medical attention is required. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service or go directly to an appropriate healthcare facility.
Information presented through Rufaa is intended to support healthcare discovery and navigation. Rufaa does not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatment or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Decisions about diagnosis, treatment, referral appropriateness and the clinical care a patient requires remain the responsibility of qualified healthcare professionals.
Rufaa may display information about healthcare facilities, including facility names, ownership, location, KEPH level, facility type, regulatory information, services, categories, capacity, opening-status indicators, contact information and other directory information.
Some information may come from public, regulatory, facility-provided, partner or other authoritative sources. Although we work to present useful and accurate information, facility details can change and Rufaa does not guarantee that every listing is complete, current or error-free.
Users should confirm time-sensitive information such as operating status, appointment availability, exact opening times, costs, accepted payment methods, insurance coverage and availability of specific clinicians directly with the facility where appropriate.
Rufaa may allow authorised representatives of healthcare facilities to claim, manage or update a facility profile. A person claiming a facility must provide accurate information and must have authority to act for that facility.
Rufaa may request additional verification, restrict changes, reject a claim or suspend facility-management privileges where verification cannot be completed or where information appears inaccurate, misleading or unauthorised.
Rufaa may support referral workflows between patients, referring providers and receiving facilities. Where a clinician determines that a referral is clinically appropriate, Rufaa may help identify suitable facilities and support the patient's selection of a receiving facility.
A referral displayed or transmitted through Rufaa does not guarantee acceptance, admission, appointment availability, treatment or a particular clinical outcome. Receiving facilities remain responsible for their own clinical and operational decisions.
Rufaa may provide appointment-request or booking functionality. An appointment request is not confirmed until the relevant facility or scheduling system confirms it.
Facilities may change, reschedule or cancel appointments according to their own policies and operational circumstances. Rufaa is not responsible for clinical delays or facility decisions outside the platform's control.
Where Rufaa supports health-information sharing, the platform is designed around patient-controlled access and consent. A patient may be able to choose which relevant information is shared, with whom it is shared and for what care-related purpose.
Users must not access, disclose, download, alter or distribute another person's health information unless they are authorised to do so. Healthcare organisations and professionals using Rufaa remain responsible for using patient information in accordance with their own legal, professional and organisational obligations.
Certain Rufaa features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity performed through your account.
You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep it reasonably up to date, and notify Rufaa if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You may not use Rufaa to:
Rufaa may use facility coordinates, mapping services and device location information to show nearby facilities, directions or geographic context. Map positions and directions are provided for convenience and may not always reflect the precise entrance, route, road condition or real-world accessibility of a facility.
Where third-party map or location services are used, those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.
Rufaa may integrate with healthcare infrastructure, facility systems, mapping providers, communication providers, identity services or other third-party platforms. Rufaa does not control all third-party services and is not responsible for outages, data errors or changes caused solely by those external systems.
Where you choose to access a third-party service through Rufaa, your use of that service may also be governed by the third party's terms.
Rufaa's handling of personal information is also governed by our applicable privacy notices and consent flows. The information collected and processed may differ depending on whether you are browsing the public facility directory, requesting an appointment, participating in a referral, managing a facility profile or using another authenticated Rufaa service.
We aim to collect and use only information reasonably necessary for the relevant Rufaa service and to apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.
Rufaa may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for functionality, preferences, security, authentication and performance. Additional information may be provided through a separate cookie notice or consent interface where applicable.
Rufaa's software, branding, interface, original content and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. These Terms give you a limited right to use Rufaa for its intended purposes; they do not transfer ownership of Rufaa's intellectual property to you.
Facility names, trademarks and third-party content remain the property of their respective owners.
We may improve, change, suspend or discontinue individual Rufaa features. We may also perform maintenance, introduce new integrations or change the way particular workflows operate.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of every feature at all times.
Rufaa may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, patient information, facilities, platform security or the integrity of the service, including where these Terms are materially breached.
Where appropriate, users may also stop using Rufaa or request closure of an account, subject to any records that must be retained for legitimate, legal, security or healthcare-operational reasons.
Rufaa is provided as a healthcare discovery and navigation service. While we aim to provide a reliable experience, information and features may sometimes be incomplete, delayed, unavailable or affected by data supplied by third parties.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Rufaa does not make a guarantee regarding a particular medical outcome, appointment outcome, referral acceptance, facility availability or the completeness of third-party facility information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Rufaa will not be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising solely from the use or inability to use the platform, third-party service failures, inaccurate third-party directory information, or independent clinical decisions made by healthcare providers.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
We may update these Terms as Rufaa evolves. When changes are material, we may provide notice through the platform or another reasonable method. The updated version will show a revised "Last updated" date.
Continued use of Rufaa after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that apply to you under applicable law.
